Controversy strikes the world of NFTs as Yuga Labs, the creator of the popular Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) NFTs, is accused of copyright infringement. Yuga Labs founder Greg Solano, who goes by the handle @CryptoGarga on Twitter, took to the social media platform to address the issue. In a series of tweets, he stated that the situation was “news to us” and that Yuga Labs was investigating the matter. He also revealed that Yuga Labs had used a freelancer for the BAKC logo, which may have led to the alleged copyright infringement.

While the accusations of copyright infringement are serious, it is worth noting that Yuga Labs has responded promptly and is working to remedy the situation. In his tweets, Solano stated that they will be changing the logo and updating it on their site and ask marketplaces to change as well. He also emphasized that the BAKC NFTs were meant to raise money for charity and that he was proud of the fact that they had raised over $1 million for animal charities.
