AVON LAKE, Ohio -- Hopefully, you have been following the Avon Lake Public Library on Facebook. A few months ago, Short Takes community columnist Julie Short wrote about Aurora (named after the tag bearing the toy company’s name), the cute stuffed animal kitten left at the library by a guest.

Library officials have been posting Aurora’s daily antics on social media in hopes that her owner would come back.

Anderson Stahl, 6, of Avon, left his stuffed kitten at the Avon Lake Public Library nearly four months ago. Here, he shares their story for a news program before announcing that Aurora will be a permanent resident of the library, where she has been entertaining patrons with her Facebook posts. Finally, after nearly four months, Aurora was reunited with her human owner, Anderson Stahl, 6, of Avon last week. Thinking the stuffed kitten was lost for good, Anderson had received another stuffed kitten for Christmas.

During the reunion, Anderson brought his new kitten and decided that Aurora should stay at the library. He even packed treats for Aurora in a pink backpack to keep her company.

We can’t wait to see what the library has planned for Aurora in the future. It’s been a fun ride.
